THE KING IS DEAD, LONG LIVE THE KING

Vladimir Tretchikov the 'king of kitsch' is dead. You will all remember him for his own Warhol-style "Mona Lisa", yes we mean 'The Chinese Girl' or 'La Chinita' . You see it a few times a year as you walk past a second-hand store or somewhere on the pile at a flea-market. But now the king is dead , these are to become collectors items. "He achived everything that Andy Warhol stated he wanted to be but could never achieve because of his coolness" wrote Wayne Hemingway in the book 'Just Above The Mantlepiece".

We are sad to see him go. A fantastic inspiration to the art-world. A true modern master. The King is dead, long live the King! Farewell Vladimir. We hope you meet La Chinita somewhere in the blue beyond.

Yes, one thing is more beautiful than Pi and that is 'La Chinita'.
